Audi Q5
The Q5 is Audi’s mid-sized crossover. After receiving a facelift in 2012, the current Q5 is treated with Audi’s LED lighting styling language. The lighting change in the front and rear gives the Q5 a more luxurious and cleaner look. Although the Q5 is considered a mid-sized crossover, it has a tall, powerful stance and plenty of space to hold whatever you may need. If you care for a sportier look then we’d suggest ordering your Q5 with the S-Line sport package. Although no mechanical differences are made, your Q5 will feature a more aggressive front fascia and aluminum finish rear diffuser.
The Q5 has a number of engine options ranging from an economical 2.0L inline four to a 3.0L V6. A hybrid option is also available mating the 2.0L inline four to a 54-hp electric motor. We suggest choosing the base 2.0L engine over the other two engine options due to the hybrid powertrains high base price of $52,500 and the 3.0L V6 although providing higher output; the added engine weight cancels out the would-be acceleration gain while also spoiling handling. Whichever engine you choose will always be partnered to Audi’s 8-speed automatic providing smooth shifts at all times.
The interior of the Q5 is typical Audi providing luxury and practicality all in one. Supportive yet comfortable seats and a clean, easy to read cluster gauge are the first to greet you when you sit behind the wheel. Audi’s familiar MMI (Multi Media Interface) system complete with dial and adjacent selection buttons allow you to access any vehicle system on the fly without having to avert your eyes from the road. Google Maps powers the Q5’s navigation system making it considered to be the best currently on the market.
The Audi Q5 can be the perfect package for those looking to have their cake and eat it too. The Audi Q5 combines luxury, spacious practicality, and impressive fuel economy all in one package. Whenever Audi decides to give the Q5 a refresh you can bet that we’ll be excited because this current generation will be difficult to top. The Audi Q5 competes against other luxury crossovers such as the Mercedes GLC-Class, Acura RDX, and BMW X3.
