The Honda Civic has long been one of the most popular small sedans on the market.  Ringing in the New Year with a whole new generation, Honda has given us a Civic that is guaranteed to be an instant hit. The new Civic boasts aggressive new bodywork featuring LED running lights and even full LED headlights on Touring models and above- something you typically only find on high end Audis and BMWs. The new sculpted front end features low front-end air intakes that make it look more like a sports car than low-cost econobox. This new sporty styling continues around the back of the vehicle with new rear taillights and wrap effortlessly around and up from the sides of the vehicle to the top of the trunk.
The new Civic has a choice of two engines for you to choose from ranging from the base 2.0L with 158-hp to a more peppy 1.5L turbocharged engine producing 174-hp without a real noticeable change in fuel economy figures. A choice between a 6-speed close ratio manual transmission and two CVT transmissions (depending on engine choice) are available and regardless of your choice power will be sent to the front wheels. The Civic returns impressive fuel economy with even the most inefficient model (the base 2.0L with the manual) returning 27-mpg city and 40-mpg highway- still very impressive. Although the Civic has a small fuel tank at just 12.4 gallons, with fuel economy figures like this that small tank will still stretch a long way.
The new generation Honda Civic features a beautifully crafted interior featuring a 5-inch color LCD screen in the gauge cluster, Bluetooth® Handsfree and a Multi-angle rearview camera with integrated guidelines as standard on all models. This technology is optional on a $50,000 BMW and yet comes standard on a Honda Civic costing less than half the price- we’d call that exceptional value. Other available technologies include a 7-inch touchscreen multimedia system with integrated handsfree SMS text messaging function and even Apple CarPlay®. Convenience features include a keyless remote system with keyless entry and push button start.
This new Honda Civic brings the best in modern styling combined with the newest interior technologies all for a base price of $18,640. The fantastic fuel economy is just the icing on the cake. And of course, the famed Honda reliability comes standard. The Honda Civic competes with other compact sedans such as the Chevrolet Cruze, Ford Focus, and Mazda3.
