Mercedes GLS-Class
The GLS-Class is Mercedes’s flagship SUV.  This German behemoth can hold up to seven passengers while still maintaining the ride and comfort you’d expect from a Mercedes Benz. The most notable changes will be the refreshed (and S-Class inspired) LED headlights and taillights and the new lineup of wheel options ranging from 19 inches to a massive 22 inches. Although the standard GLS450 isn’t the most aggressive looking vehicle on the road, the sport exterior package (on GLS550 models and up) truly turns the GLS into one of the most imposing vehicles on the road. With a number of exterior paint options, wheels, and trim options, the GLS is also one of the most customizable vehicles on the market.
The Mercedes GLS-Class has three distinct engines to choose from ranging from an economical 3.0L turbo-diesel to a 4.7L V8 with 449 horsepower. All GLS-Class vehicles feature the Mercedes 4MATIC all-wheel drive system as well as a nine-speed automatic transmission. A smooth comfortable ride is guaranteed thanks to the AIRMATIC air suspension system that automatically adjusts to keep a constant ride comfort level. The ECO Start/Stop system helps save some fuel when stuck in stop and go traffic. Regardless of which engine you choose for your GLS, the big Merc will be able to tow up to 7,500lbs- enough for the family boat or trailer without any issue.
Some may recognize that the new GLS is a bit more refined than the outgoing GL-Class. This new generation (like many in Mercedes’ lineup) features much of the technologies trickled down from the S-Class- including the letter. The interior now features technology such as an available heads-up display and an intelligent infotainment system. The 8-inch COMAND system presents navigation, entertainment, and vehicle settings clearly to the occupants while also being easy to use via the touchpad controller located on the center console. The entire cabin is appointed in soft Nappa leather while each passenger has a view of the sky above thanks to the dual panoramic roof. The GLS is offered with a choice of two premium sound systems: one by Harmon/Kardon and another courtesy of Bang & Olufsen.
The GLS-Class is not only the largest vehicle in the Mercedes fleet but also one of the most refined. With multiple exterior and interior options, advanced technology, and a level of luxury expected of a Mercedes, the GLS-Class is a sure to make a statement wherever you go. The Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class competes against the Cadillac Escalade, Land Rover Range Rover, and Porsche Cayenne.
