Horacio Pagani in the eyes of many is seen as more of an artist than engineer, creating masterpieces of design such as the Zonda and current Huayra hypercars. However, being the ever-evolving artist he is, Mr. Pagani is never satisfied. Enter the Pagani Huayra BC. Named after personal friend of Horacio and first ever Pagani buyer Benny Caiola, the Huayra BC is the hardcore, track-focused cousin of the standard Huayra. Although the BC’s looks are unmistakably Pagani, the new model as been refreshed from the ground up and only shares it’s roof panels with the “base” Huayra. Even after a quick glance it is easy to see the magic of aerodynamics hard at work. The BC features a pronounced front chin splitter and large forward dive planes to generate downforce while the fenders are fitted with vents to allow high-pressure air out from inside the wheel wells. A massive curved rear wing and aggressive rear diffuser compete the hypercar’s revised design.
In a world when the greatest hypercars are all fitted with complicated hybrid systems Pagani looked to much more traditional engine tweaking to raise the Huayra BC to the next level. Pumping out an impressive 750-hp from it’s Mercedes AMG 6.0L twin-turbo V12, the Huayra BC can sprint to 60 mph in quick 2.8 seconds and on to an estimated top speed of 210 mph. The top speed is likely to be less than the standard Huayra due to the use of all that aerodynamic bodywork. Massive carbon ceramic rotors clamp down to slow down the Huayra and allow an impressive braking time of just 4.3 seconds from 124mph to a dead stop.
Although the driving dynamics and powertrain of the Huayra BC are impressive, the interior is a true work of art. The cabin of the Huayra is a beautiful mix of polished metal, glossy carbon fiber, and fine Italian leather. The switchgear is all milled out of aluminum as the key that takes more than a solid day to mill and costs an impressive $3,700 in you are in need of another one. The touchscreen multimedia system controls a number of vehicle functions including a system allowing you to fill the cabin with any color ambient lighting you like. Although little has changed with the interior of the BC, you will notice the liberal use of Alcantara signaling the Huayra BC’s lightweight design.
The Pagani Huayra BC is the most exciting vehicle to come out of Italy for some time and with a combination of aggressive coach bodywork, special engine tweaking to it’s 6.0L V12, and race-focused interior, this hardcore Italian would certainly make Mr. Caiola proud. Limited to only 20 hardtop units each one of these Italian masterpieces is priced at a staggering $2.5 million dollars. The Pagani Huayra BC competes against the Ferrari LaFerrari, McLaren P1, and Porsche 918 Spyder.
